Dr. Sarah Marder‑Eppstein
Founder & Principal Consultant, EdMar Education Consulting

Dr. Sarah Marder-Eppstein is the founder of EdMar, an education consulting practice that helps organizations turn research and program design into measurable changes in classroom practice. She works with school systems, nonprofits, and research organizations to design professional learning, clarify strategy, and build the conditions required for implementation at scale.
Professional Background
Prior to founding EdMar, Sarah served as Vice President of Teacher Professional Education at Relay Graduate School of Education. She led national programming that reached more than 20,000 educators across 26 states, overseeing both the design of professional learning and the systems needed to deliver it consistently. Her work focused on developing strong teachers at scale.
She began her career as a teacher at Achievement First, an experience that continues to shape her approach. Professional learning, in her view, must be practical, immediately usable, and aligned to the realities of schools.
Areas of Work
Sarah's engagements typically focus on:
- Translating research into practitioner-facing tools and professional learning
- Designing and refining professional learning experiences (in-person, virtual, and hybrid)
- Facilitating institutes, workshops, and strategy sessions for educators and leaders
- Supporting organizations in developing clear go-to-market strategies for new offerings
- Partnering with research teams on data, measurement, and learning systems that inform decisions
- Building systems and internal capacity to support implementation and scale
Approach
Sarah's work is grounded in a simple premise: strong ideas only matter if they can be implemented well. She helps organizations prioritize where to focus, make concrete decisions about design and delivery, and build approaches that can be sustained beyond a single initiative.
Teaching
Sarah is an Adjunct Instructor at Northeastern University's Roux Institute, where she teaches and customizes programs connecting adult learners, researchers, and community partners.
